Dry air swath enters Central Florida, a few light showers possible

After a stormy Tuesday afternoon, the waves of storms moved offshore. Thick clouds kept the high at Orlando International Airport at 86 degrees. Clouds will linger tonight, as temperatures drop to the low 70s.

Storms moved over land Tuesday afternoon and although there were no severe alerts issued in Central Florida, there was a tornado warning near St. Augustine and the Castillo San Marcos reported elevated rainfall at the moat.

Closer to Orlando, rainfall varied between 2 to 3 inches.

Clouds will linger tonight, on Wednesday morning, and the last great impulse of showers will move over Central Florida. This time, showers will be more scarce and scattered. Some areas where showers have been more persistent during the last seven days could be over-saturated and could flood more easily. Showers will be on and off, with some embedded storms possible through the afternoon.
