Flock of flamingos seeks shelter at Busch Gardens

TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Crews at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay are taking precautions for the animals before Hurricane Irma hits the west coast of Florida.

The crews are in charge of the safety of 12,000 animals and moving them to secure locations, zoo officials said.

A zoological team will be at the theme park to monitor the animals around the clock.

Hurricane Irma is expected to hit parts of Tampa on Sunday and Central Florida on Sunday night into Monday morning.
