Hurricane Irma: Tolls to be reinstated Thursday

TALLAHASSEE — Florida Gov. Rick Scott will reinstate tolls at midnight Thursday, the Florida Department of Transportation said Tuesday morning.

Scott had suspended tolls since Sept. 5 to facilitate preparations and evacuations ahead of Hurricane Irma's arrival.

Tolls will remain suspended on the Homestead extension of Florida's Turnpike, south of the interchange with State Road 874 to assist Monroe County residents with recovery efforts, an FDOT spokesman said.
