Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is Providing Free Sandbags In response to the potential impact of Tropical Storm Erika, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will be distributing free sandbags to residents.

Citizens can respond to the Brevard Sheriff’s Farm, 2955 Pluckebaum Road, Cocoa, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

There is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle.

The bags will be filled and loaded into the vehicles by supervised Inmate Work Crews.

Melbourne

City of Melbourne staff are closely monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Erika and are continuing to make preparations in case emergency response becomes necessary.


The decision whether the City will be open for business on Monday will be made after the 2 p.m. forecast on Sunday. That information will be posted in the following places:
