On and off showers Tuesday; foggy areas this evening in Central Florida

After weeks of mostly dry conditions, rain activity is ramping up across most of Florida.
Residents in Central Florida should have the umbrella handy over the next couple of days.
Most intense showers have remained over the Space Coast, with off-and-on rain over Downtown Orlando and surrounding areas.
The warm front attached to a low-pressure area will crawl north, increasing shower activity along the coast. During the rest of the afternoon, shower and thunderstorm activity will increase across Orange County northward as the low pressure crosses Central Florida, mainly during the early evening, then diminishing after 9 p.m.
"It’s an unusually soggy pattern for this time of year. We’ll see a few storms, too, and some could be strong, with gusty winds. By the weekend, drier air returns, and then a big chill arrives early next week," Shields said.
The thick clouds have kept the highs in the low 70s. Some cities have even stayed in the 60s.
Since the ground has been saturated and the air will remain relatively cool over night, expect areas of dense fog to develop overnight Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — We will have a slight break from the persistent showers on Wednesday, but an increase is again expected on Thanksgiving Day as another low-pressure system approaches Florida.
