Solar eclipse special coverage by Channel 9 meteorologists

There is a HUGE HISTORIC event happening on Monday August 21. A solar eclipse will be visible across the continuous United States. Every region in the country will have at least a partial eclipse, and about 200 million people are within a day’s drive of the path of totality.
Although Central Florida is not in the path of totality, we will experience a partial eclipse. In fact, between 85%-90% of the Sun will be eclipsed by the moon.
It’s summer time in Florida and there is a good chance that our sky will have some clouds. Although it is too early to tell how much cloud coverage there will be on August 21, it’s not too early to tell you about our coverage that day!

Certified meteorologists Irene Sans and Brian Shields have been anxiously wiating for this event and will be covering it on Facebook Live on August 21.

"There might be clouds, there might be rain, but there will be so much science going on in the U.S. that we do not want to miss this great opportunity to bring you complete scientific (and FUN) coverage," explained both certified meteorologists.
