If you consider yourself a downtown Orlando regular, then you should already be familiar with Pipers Downtown Sports Bar and Grille.  Since opening its doors three years ago September, it’s a popular hot spot in the center of downtown Orlando.   Described as your authentic sports bar and grille, Pipers Downtown has many TV’s, including some big screens, to offer the fanatic sports fan.  This fall, you can watch your favorite football team at Pipers Downtown because they have the NFL Package every Sunday.  There is also a back room, which has it’s own bar, and it’s open during regular business hours, and can be reserved for private events.

The atmosphere is sports-themed, but not exclusive to any particular team or league.  In fact, if you have any great sport memorabilia, you can have it displayed at Pipers Downtown!  Next time you are in Pipers Downtown, see if you can locate all the sports-themed gnomes throughout the restaurant (there are 8 of them!).  If you have any gnomes, you can also bring them to Pipers Downtown to be put on display.   If you enjoy trivia, Pipers Downtown hosts an event every Tuesday night in the back bar.  If you are a poker player, Pipers Downtown hosts a hold ‘em Poker on Sunday and Tuesday nights.

Proud Central Floridians, the owners of Pipers Downtown have named some specialty shots after local teams.  If you are feeling adventurous, (and have a designated driver), then try all of them – the Magic, the Predator, and the Golden Knight. You can expect a specialty shot to be made this fall for the return of the Orlando Solar Bears hockey team.  Aside from the specialty shot selection, Pipers Downtown has its own beer, Pipers Ale, and a specialty spirits drink called the Helluva Drink.  When ordering one of Pipers Downtown specialty drinks, you have the option to keep the glass!

A hidden gem of a drink at Pipers Downtown is the Chocolate-covered Pretzel.  Bartender wouldn’t divulge on the contents or how it’s made, but it definitely tastes like the name.  Another tasty concoction that lives up to its name is the Toasted Marshmallow.  It’s made with Pinnacle Marshmallow Vodka and Hazelnut liquor; you will feel like you are sitting by an open fire after drink this.   You can try these concoctions and more during Pipers Downtown Happy hour, which is every day 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.!  Wednesday’s are always a hot night at Pipers Downtown when happy hour is all day and all night; and on Friday’s, happy hour lasts until 10 p.m.!  Happy hour specials include $4 Pinnacle and 3 Olives Vodka; $3.50 wells, and draft specials.  If you are in the service industry, your special night is Monday’s after 10 p.m.   Pipers Downtown also sponsors the WAKA Kickball Thursday and Friday night leagues, and league members have specials on those nights.

With a lot to offer its customers, one can’t forget the food!  Pipers Downtown has a great menu with your usual suspects for a sports-themed restaurant.  The most popular dishes are the wings, burgers, and sandwiches.  They have a great $5.95 lunch menu, and it also applies for the to-go lunch orders.  If you are really hungry – really, really hungry – you can challenge yourself to the 3 lb. burger!  Anyone who finishes the $24.95 burger in 30 minutes or less gets the meal for free, and will live in infamy with their photo on the Wall of Fame.
