Good afternoon! Ahh, finally Friday. As promised, a cold front moved through central Florida this morning with lots of low clouds, but not much else. We had a few sprinkles and light showers here and there before mid-morning, otherwise, the front came through the area mainly dry. Strong high pressure to the north is funneling in a northerly wind today, allowing our sky to quickly clear out. That sets us up for a chilly start first thing Saturday morning! Our lowest temperature so far in Orlando this cold season has been 51 degrees back on October 20th; I think we'll stay just above that but many areas north and west of town will wake up to 40s Saturday morning. It will be chilly for Friday night football, as well, so take the jacket along!

For the weekend, we'll be stuck in a wind tunnel of sorts! The difference between high pressure to the north and low pressure off Florida's east coast will create, first, a strong north wind on Saturday and an onshore northeast wind on Sunday. Most of the clouds will stay offshore Saturday (until late day along the Volusia/Brevard coast) but as that wind turns onshore Sunday, more clouds will push farther inland. We could even finish Sunday with a shower across our eastern counties (20% chance). With wind gusting above 35 mph at times along the coast, rough seas will be a big story this weekend. Waves will build to 8-11 feet by Saturday afternoon and lasting into Sunday; there will be long-period swells. Rip currents will be a big concern as well, especially at low tide. If you're headed to the beaches, stay safe!

Also, don't forget this is the weekend we gain an extra hour of sleep as Eastern Standard Time returns. Set those clocks back one hour before you head to bed Saturday night. The sun will set before 6 pm on Sunday night!

Have a great weekend.
