Minneapolis, MN -- (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Lynx claimed guard Crystal Smith off waivers from the Houston Comets Friday, and re-signed veteran forward Tiffany Stansbury.

Smith, a 5-foot-5 point guard, spent the 2007 season with the Comets, averaging 6.3 points and 2.7 assists in 27 games. As a rookie in 2006, Smith tallied 2.7 points in 22 games with the Phoenix Mercury.

Stansbury averaged 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 30 games with Minnesota last season.

The Lynx also waived center Marita Payne and guards Megan Vogel, Ashley Awkward, and Caroline Williams off their training camp roster.
