Phoenix Stars Propel Mercury Past Sparks

(Sports Network) - Cappie Pondexter scored 27 points and Diana Taurasi added 23 points with eight rebounds and six assists, as Phoenix used a big third quarter to down the Los Angeles Sparks, 99-92.

Kelly Miller served a supporting role with 16 points for the Mercury, who blocked eight shots and forced 23 turnovers.

Delisha Milton poured in a game-best 38 points on 13-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-8 from long range, for the Sparks. Candace Parker notched a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds and Lisa Leslie added 11 points and eight boards in defeat.
