Shock Leave Fever Feeling Ill

Friday, September 5, 2008

(Sports Network) - Plenette Pierson scored 20 points, dished out four assists and hauled in six rebounds off the bench to lead postseason- bound Detroit in a 90-68 rout of playoff-hopeful Indiana.

Deanna Nolan added 19 points and Kara Braxton 12 for the Shock, who have won two of their last three games. Alexis Hornbuckle chipped in 10 points in the victory for Detroit, which, at 18-12, already has a spot in the playoffs locked down in the Eastern Conference.

Tamika Catchings poured in 20 points and grabbed 10 boards for the Fever, who saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Despite the loss, the club still occupies the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Ebony Hoffman tallied 12 points and eight rebounds in defeat, while Tully Bevilaqua notched 11 points and a team-high four helpers.
