Hurricane Irma: Cancelled concerts and events in Central Florida

CENTRAL FLORIDA — As powerful Hurricane Irma continues to head west towards the US, several Central Florida venues have decided to cancel or postpone events.

Below is a county-by-county breakdown on the event cancellations so far. We will update this list as more announcements come through.

Orange County

Dr Phillips Center for Performing Arts

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has rescheduled Saturday's Paramore performance to Tuesday December 5th. Tickets purchased will be valid for the new date. Anyone who cannot attend on December 5 is entitled to a full refund at point of purchase until Friday, October 6.

Dr. Phillips Center is currently in contact with show management for The King & I (September 12–17) to determine whether the show will go on as planned, be rescheduled or get cancelled.

Amway Center

The Amway Center has cancelled all performances of Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream. A return engagement is scheduled for May 2018. Specific dates remain to be determined. Tickets will be honored for the rescheduled performances.

Wall Street Plaza

MargaritaFest has been postponed and will not happen this Saturday. A new date will be announced soon. All Tickets will be valid for the new date, but if you can't make the new date a Full Refund will be offered

Orlando Shakespeare Theater

At this time, all performances of Man of La Mancha will go on as planned. Orlando Shakes will follow the City and County guidelines regarding any curfews in regards to the potential hurricane. Should there be an issue for Central Florida, the theater will reschedule any impacted performances for a later date and allow ticket holders to exchange to another performance. Any ticket holders that will be affected by the hurricane will be contacted by Friday at noon.

Volusia County

Museum of Arts and Sciences

The Museum of Arts and Sciences is closed now in preparation for Hurricane Irma. Updates on a reopening date will be posted on moas.org.

Halifax Health - Hospice 5k:

The 16th Annual Halifax Health - Hospice 5K has been postponed due to the potential impact of Hurricane Irma. The race has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 8:00am, at the Port Orange City Center Circle (start/finish line near the Kenneth W. Parker Amphitheater and Lakeside Community Center).

Brevard County

The Brevard Zoo

The Brevard Zoo will remain open at least until Friday afternoon as we prepare for Hurricane Irma, although certain experiences may not be available. If the storm moves as current projections indicate, the Zoo and Treetop Trek will be closed from Saturday to Monday. Updates regarding closures and reopenings will be posted on BrevardZoo.org.

King Center for the Performing Arts

Due to Hurricane Irma, the Steve Oliver & Marion Meadows concert originally scheduled for this Saturday evening has been postponed until Saturday, September 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be exchanged for the new concert date and will be sent to you in the same form they were originally purchased (print at home, mailed, or will call.) If you are unable to attend on the new date and would like to receive a refund or gift certificate, please contact our the King Center at (321) 242-2219. 

Seminole County

Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Orlando 5K Run & Walk at Cranes Roost Park

Due to the impending path of Hurricane Irma this 5k has been postponed. The new date is Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Cranes Roost Park. Registration and fundraising will remain open; updates will be posted here.
