Convicted felon opens fire on family in car, deputies say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A convicted felon with dozens of arrests to his name was back in jail after investigators said he sprayed a family car with bullets.

Maurio “Scar Face” Hall, was wearing a court-ordered GPS monitor at the time of the shooting on Pearl Street near State Road 436.

Seminole County sheriff’s deputies said Hall fired 11 shots at the car, hitting it five times.

The victims – a woman, her mother and two siblings – were not injured in the shooting.

Investigators believed the shooting was a case of mistaken identity and Hall mistook someone in the car for a man he wanted to kill.

The shooting took place next door to Karen Rhodes’ home on Pearl Street and she was thankful no one was hurt, or killed.

“I am so blessed, (the driver) is blessed, and this street is blessed,” Rhodes said. “And that is probably why (the driver) is still alive.”

Hall was being held without bond at the Seminole County Jail.

He is scheduled to have an arraignment in April.
