Crews battle grass fires along Turnpike

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters are working to put out several small grass fires that are burning along the Turnpike in Orange County.

The grass fires are burning in a few spots along the highway between I-4 and the Turkey Lake rest plaza, according to officials.

Troopers have closed one northbound lane near the Turnpike and I-4 interchange.

Firefighters also responded for a vehicle fire in the same area, but officials said it's unclear if it sparked the grass fires.

From a highway transportation camera, smoke could be seen along the roadway.
