Florida judge rules Gov. DeSantis must hand over records on migrant flights

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Leon County circuit judge ruled Tuesday that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration did not comply with the public records law in the fallout of that migrant flight to Martha’s Vineyard.

Last month, the state paid to fly about 50 migrants from Texas to Massachusetts.

An open-government group sued the DeSantis administration, saying the office didn’t turn over public records.

A judge agreed and ordered the governor’s office to hand them over in the next 20 days.

An attorney for the governor said they are diligently working to do just that.
