ROTONDA WEST -- Area residents will have an opportunity for a variety of complimentary personal health screenings and testings at the fourth annual health fair, sponsored by Brookdale Rotonda Senior Living.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 3 at Brookdale Rotonda, 550 Rotonda Blvd. W.
There is no admission charge. Receipts from a raffle and food service will benefit Englewood’s Big Brothers Big Sisters, to support local youth programs.
More than two dozen health and community-?awareness organizations will participate.
"This is a rare opportunity for residents to take advantage of comprehensive health screening by trained professionals under one roof and at no cost," commented Brenda Peckham, sales manager of Brookdale Rotonda and chairwoman of the board of Englewood Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Services offered will include blood pressure, vision and hearing, bone density tests, balance testing, stroke tests, the Memory Mobile for memory screening, and information about healthy living. Other services are expected to participate. Results will be kept confidential.
Prize drawings will be offered, as well as a raffle and giveaways. A food-service area will have hot dogs, snacks and beverages.
Committee members are Brenda Peckham, chairwoman; Charlotte County Sheriff’s Deputy Dan Cotton, Danica Harris, Ted Kern, Jim Laurent, Maureen McDowell, Don Mahon, Susan Rachles and John Sciandra. All are members of the BBBS board.
