Lanes of Colonial Drive reopen after fatal crash near downtown Orlando, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — A fatal crash shut down Colonial Drive near Mills Avenue for hours early Monday morning, according to police.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m., according to officials.

Officials have not revealed what lead to the crash.

Police said they are looking for help finding the occupants of a small white four-door vehicle seen at the time of the crash heading west on Colonial Drive.

Channel 9 learned that homicide detectives were called to the scene. Skywitness 9 also captured some downed power lines in the area.

The crash caused significant traffic delays in the area before the westbound lanes reopened just before noon.

One eastbound lane reopened around 2 p.m.
