Why do we keep touching our faces, and how do we stop?

Medical experts have been asking people to stop touching their faces, but behavioral experts say that’s not easy because it’s a reflex we’ve had since before we were born.

It also doesn’t help that Central Florida is suffering through a brutal allergy season.

Channel 9’s Joe Kepner talked to a mental health counselor about some of the tools and techniques people can use to keep their fingers away from their faces.

He also talked with WFTV Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry about the allergy season and when Central Florida could see some relief.

Terry says the rain will help, and so will the masks everyone is wearing in public.
