The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that the Waste Pro truck crashed Wednesday morning in Palm Coast.
Florida Highway Patrol says the victim had been in the truck's passenger seat when it tipped over in a swale. Sgt. Dylan Bryan says the driver may have entered a curve a little too fast. The victim apparently tried to exit the truck as it overturned, causing him to be trapped underneath.
Waste Pro spokesman Ron Pecora says the victim was a helper who assisted truck drivers in collecting garbage, yard waste and recyclables. The truck weighs more than 40,000 pounds.
Officials didn't immediately name the victim or driver. It wasn't clear if the driver was cited for the crash.
