Florida has only administered a portion of the 1.6 million COVID-19 doses shipped

County health departments are asking for more doses, but there are about a million doses unaccounted for in the state.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it has shipped nearly 1.7 million doses, but only about 700,000 have been administered.

Thursday marks exactly one month since the first Floridians got COVID-19 vaccine doses.

But all the fanfare has been quickly replaced with frustration.

We knew there’d be limited doses, but how does the state explain this?

As of today, the CDC said it has shipped 1,680,200 doses. But according to the state, it has only administered about 700,000 doses.
