'I just fired shots': 911 calls dictate moments after shooting outside Orange County bar

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The person who pulled the trigger in a shooting outside an Orange County bar is also one of the people who called 911 to report that someone had been shot.

The shooting happened outside the now closed El Rinconcito in February. Newly released 911 calls released give insight into what happened before and after shots were fired.

“I just fired shots at a car that tried to run us over,” says the bar’s security guard in the calls.

The guard said the driver was acting strangely as they tried to close the bar for the night.

“He came up to the parking lot and he was real fishy,” the security guard said. “The guy was talking to us about how he was drugged up. We tried to talk to him, but he's like … with his hands on his pants and we told him please show us your hands.”

Surveillance camera footage shows the car accelerating toward a gate that the security guard was shutting.
A moment later, after shots were fired, the driver speeds off erratically hopping a curb. Deputies said he was found with a bullet wound to the head about a half mile away on East Colonial Drive.
