• Man dead, woman critical after shooting in Pine Hills, deputies say

    ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Pine Hills just after midnight Thursday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

    The victim's brother drove him to a McDonald's near Silver Star and Pine Hills roads to meet someone when several shots were fired, deputies said. 

    The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died.

    Deputies said moment slater, a 19-year-old woman arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. She was in critical condition.


    “Yeah, it makes me concerned because I'm out here every morning and I don't know what happened, and I'm don't want to be a statistic like the guy whose car is sitting over there cause they got shot or whatever,” resident Willie Nickles said.


    Deputies have not released any information regarding a possible suspect or motive for the shooting.
