• Woman, 18, killed, two injured in Sanford shooting


    SANFORD, Fla. - An 18-year-old woman was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting near 14th Street and S. Oleander Avenue in Sanford early Monday morning, according to police.

    Investigators said Pernecia KeAmber Jones, 18, of Sanford was shot in the shoulder and was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

    Authorities said Marvin Joe, 29, of Sanford was being treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center for gunshot wounds, and Javon Roberts, 19, of Sanford was treated and released from Central Florida Regional Hospital.

    The shots were reportedly fired from one vehicle into another car. Police said the victims were able to drive two blocks from the shooting scene, where they stopped to get help.

    WFTV was told a group of men were inside the shooter's white sedan when they sped away.

    Witnesses also told WFTV that Pernecia KeAmber Jones may have been pregnant.
