1 killed in crash along US Highway 1 in Bunnell

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A man died in a crash along U.S. Highway 1 in Bunnell early Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers responded to the area of Old Dixie Highway around 1:45 a.m.

Investigators said the man was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 when he approached a roundabout in the roadway.

They said he lost control and drove through the roundabout before his car rolled several times and struck a tree.

Troopers have not released the name of the 40-year-old driver from Ormond Beach.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to FHP.

U.S. 1, which was shut down for several hours after the crash, has since reopened.
