1 killed in Palm Coast house fire

PALM COAST, Fla. — An 88-year-old woman died in a Palm Coast house fire early Thursday morning, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Edith Moss and her husband Nathaniel, 95, were  in the home on Floral Court when the house caught fire around 12:30 a.m.

According to the Sheriff's office, Edith Moss called to report that her car was on fire in the garage.

Dispatchers advised her to get out of the home, but she told them she couldn't do that, officials said.

When firefighters arrived they found the garage fully engulfed.

Firefighters found Edith Moss in a rear bedroom of the house. She died while being transported to the hospital officials said.

Her husband was transported to Flagler Hospital Flagler where he was treated for smoke inhalation.

The State Fire Marshal will investigate the fire.
