ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - One person was shot near the Altamonte Springs Mall Saturday after a road rage incident, authorities said.

Officials said a 28-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound at a home on Cranes Circle West in the Cranes Roost Villas, and was taken to a hospital.

The shooting stemmed from an altercation that started near the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and State Road 436 near the SunRail station, police said.

Police said the gunman’s black Honda was last seen heading north on Douglass Avenue in Altamonte Springs.

"It is a passenger vehicle. It is occupied by a Hispanic male and Hispanic female passenger. What we know is, again, it's not a random act of violence. It looks like these two vehicles were involved in some kind of incident on the roadway and that's why the shooting occurred," Evelyn Estevez with the Altamonte Springs Police Department said.

The victim is recovering at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

    The gunman remains at large.
