• 1-year-old boy hit, killed by SUV in driveway

ORLANDO, Fla. - A one-year-old boy is dead after being run over in the driveway of an Orlando home Saturday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators say 27-year-old Dale Dorman was parked in the driveway at 851 Mosshart Lane with the child behind the vehicle.

Dorman, who is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, told investigators he did not know the boy was out of the house.

When Dorman started to back his Dodge SUV out of the driveway, investigators say the rear of the vehicle struck the child then ran over him.

The boy was taken to Florida Hospital East in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

According to FHP, the accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
