2 hurt after gunfire erupts in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Two people were injured after gunfire erupted in Melbourne Friday afternoon.

Channel 9 learned a man and woman were injured at the Shull Apartment Complex on University Boulevard.

Police said they don't know what led up to the shooting, but two people are now recovering from their wounds in the hospital. Their names and conditions have not been released.

Police still have not identified a suspect in the case.

Melbourne police interviewed several people who were at or near the complex at the time of the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
