3 critical after crash into tree in Seminole Co.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County fire officials blame slick roads for a crash that sent three people to the hospital in critical condition early Sunday morning.

Officials said one car slid off Dike Road around midnight and went head-on into a tree.

The driver and the two passengers were hurt. Officials say one was trapped inside the car.

"Two patients got removed pretty quickly, one of them was pinned between a tree and the car itself, and it took almost 45 minutes to get them out of the vehicle," said Seminole County Fire Battalion Chief Marc Baumgart.

Baumgart called Dike Road "treacherous," saying it has a history of car accidents.
