ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Three people are facing charges in Orange County after going on a crime spree in the resort area near Disney World, deputies said.
It began with a carjacking in the parking garage of one of the hotels.
The carjacking victim said he feared for his life, but is glad those involved were caught.
Two of the three men are in jail.
The victim, who did not want to be identified, said he arrived early for work Tuesday afternoon at the Wyndham Bonnett Creek Resort and decided to wait inside his car.
He said two men began knocking at his window.
“The next thing that happened is they pulled their gun and pointed it in my face and said, ‘Hey give me the car and give me your car key,’” the victim said. “They dragged me and they put me on the floor (and said) ‘Don’t move man, don’t move or else I’m going to shoot you.’ So I was like, ‘Please, please don’t kill me. Take whatever you want.’”
According to report, the carjacking suspects, who deputies have identified as Markise Ress and a juvenile, let the victim go and then picked up Lavonnia Miller before speeding toward Buena Vista Avenue where they got in an accident.
As the trio made their escape, they hit a rental car.
When the passenger got out to inspect the damage, Miller, who was driving the car, allegedly tried to hit the man, who had to jump on the hood to avoid getting hurt.
The man rode on the hood of the car for 75 feet before he was able to jump off.
The car eventually jumped a curb at the Disney Casting building.
While two of the suspects ran around the building, one of the suspects ran inside.
The three were eventually caught.
The manager of the hotel said he is working with deputies to prosecute the suspects.
As for the victim, the hotel is giving him a couple days off while he recovers from some minor injuries.
