• 3 stabbed at Altamonte Springs motel, suspect in custody


    ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Altamonte Springs police are investigating a stabbing that left two people seriously injured.

    Police say they were called to America’s Best Inn on Wymore Road just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to a stabbing.

    Responding officers found three male victims.

    Two of the victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition; the third man was treated at the scene for a minor laceration.

    After investigating the incident, police were led to a home on Longwood Avenue where they made contact with a suspect, 20-year-old Thomas James Grote.

    Grote was later arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated battery.

    Police said Grote is not known to the three victims and they still have no motive for the stabbing.
