6 luxury RVs catch fire at Sanford dealership

SANFORD, Fla. — Six recreational vehicles caught fire at a Sanford dealership early Monday morning, authorities said.

The fires happened at the Florida Luxury Coaches dealership off of Orange Boulevard.

Authorities said that someone from the Kangaroo store across the street called 911 to report the fire.

"The caller advised there was a fire. Our units on the scene advised fire and smoke showing," said Sharon Gregory, with Seminole County Fire Rescue.

A total of six RVs were involved in the fire, officials said.

"After being on scene for a little while, they did call for a second alarm, so they had additional units respond," Gregory said.

As of Monday morning officials were trying to assess the damage. Some vehicles were left with just the shell remaining, while others sustained moderate or minor damage.

"I was told it was stopped before it reached the building," Gregory said.

No injuries were reported. Authorities do not know the cause of the fires and the state fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
