Lovchik faces charges in connection with four rapes of women in 1995, police said. DNA results positively identified Lovchik as the suspect in August, police said.
Fairfax police notified Ocala police who then had Lovchik under heavy surveillance until his arrest, investigators said.
Three search warrants were executed within Marion County to assist in the investigations, but police did not disclose the locations.
“We have no reason to believe Jude Lovchik committed any crimes while in Marion County, but if anyone has been victimized, we encourage them to call the Ocala Police Department,” Ocala police major crimes Captain Steve Cuppy said.
The Ocala Police Department phone number is 352-369-7000.
