Attorney: Casey Anthony may take stand in civil trial

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It's been one year since a jury acquitted Casey Anthony of murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

And it seems we may finally hear from her under oath.

Her attorney said Anthony may take the stand in the civil trial against her.

Casey is being sued for defamation by Zenaida Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said Anthony used her name as the baby sitter who supposedly kidnapped Caylee.

The civil trial is scheduled to start in January.

Meantime, Casey's former attorney is making new claims about her murder case.

During an appearance on Good Morning America to promote his new book, Jose Baez said prosecutors never told jurors about searches for suicide-related topics on the Anthony family computer the day Caylee disappeared.

Baez also said he totally believes the theory that Caylee drowned in the family pool.

"What I tried to do is disprove what she was telling me, and quite frankly I couldn't," said Baez.

Baez's new book has been on sale since Tuesday.

On Thursday, Barnes and Noble told WFTV its sales have been slower compared to sales of prosecutor Jeff Ashton's book in the first days after its release.
