• Baby Jesus stolen from Frostproof nativity scene


    FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Polk County Sheriff's deputies are trying to find out who stole the baby Jesus from a nativity scene in Frostproof.

    Deputies said the city set up the nativity scene on the corner of B Street West and Scenic Highway.

    Sometime between Saturday and Monday, the baby, a plastic doll, was taken, deputies said.

    Deputies also said that a 4-foot by 6-foot plywood donkey was taken as well.

    According to deputies, the city would like for someone to return the items to the Frostproof City Hall.

    Deputies said anyone with information who wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call 1-800-226-TIPS or log onto www.heartlandcrimestoppers.com.
