Bank robbery suspect found in Perkins parking lot hours after robbery

DELAND, Fla. — A robbery suspect didn’t get too far after investigators said he stole money from a DeLand bank Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators said a man walked into the TD Bank on South Spring Garden Avenue about 2 p.m. and passed the teller a note demanding cash.

A GPS tracker was with the money the man received, and DeLand police and Volusia County deputies were able to track down the suspect at a Perkin’s restaurant parking lot on Woodland Boulevard.

They said Jacob Palfery, 34, of Winter Springs, tried to run from the parking lot, but was captured.

Another man in Palfrey’s car, Michael Raymond, 41, was also charged in connection to the robbery.

A third person with the two suspects was released from custody.
