Bikefest rolls into Leesburg this weekend following 2020 hiatus

LEESBURG, Fla. — Starting today, thousands of motorcyclists will gather in Lake County for the return of Leesburg Bikefest.

Last year, officials put the brakes on the annual event, first in spring and again in November, as the pandemic persisted.

Merchants and bikers who were forced to take a detour from Bikefest in 2020 have a lot to look forward to this weekend.

Planners began preparing for big crowds early in the week, setting up food vendors, putting barriers around the main stage and even planting flowers.

Organizers say the event transforms the historic downtown area into a celebration of music, food and of course, motorcycles.

Leesburg Bikefest 2021 runs Friday through Sunday.
