Body found in St. Johns River near Debary

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A boater discovered a body floating in the St. Johns River on Wednesday, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, the body was found near the Highbanks Marina, just west of Debary.

The boater flagged down a water unit with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission around noon, investigators said.

The dive team from the Sheriff's Office is responding to the scene to retrieve the body. The agency will launch an investigation to determine the victim's identity and cause of death, investigators said.
