Boy, 6, honored at Kennedy Space Center

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 6-year-old boy got to meet astronauts, see space vehicles and will soon be able to witness his first launch at Kennedy Space Center.

Connor Johnson, of Colorado, has always dreamed of being an astronaut and in December 2013 he launched an online petition to save NASA’s funding from budget cuts.

NASA Kennedy Space Center director and astronaut Robert Cabana presented a bolt from the International Space Station and mission patch to inspire the youngster during a ceremony held at the Rocket Garden.
