Breast Cancer Awareness Month: National nonprofits offering resources

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

ORLANDO, Fla. — There are plenty of nonprofits working to serve those impacted by breast cancer in October and all year long.

Channel 9 compiled a list of nonprofits out there offering support. See the list below:


American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is on a mission to free the world from cancer. Until they do, they’ll be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention.

The organization’s mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Young Survival Coalition

Young Survival Coalition strengthens the community, addresses the unique needs, amplifies the voices and improves the quality of life of young adults affected by breast cancer, locally, nationally and internationally.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer is a national nonprofit organization that seeks to create a world that understands there is more than one way to have breast cancer.

National Breast Cancer Foundation

The organization provides help and inspires hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services.

The group’s mission is to reduce the burden and provide financial aid to children and families who are suffering from cancer.
