• Brevard County Sheriff's Office announces $1,000 reward for information after dogs found shot

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that a $1,000 reward is being offered for information about whoever shot two dogs that had escaped from their home.

The dogs escaped at about 1:30 p.m. Friday from their yard at a home in the 7000 block of Orchid Tree Drive in Grant.

While the owners were searching for the two dogs, they reported hearing three gunshots, the Sheriff's Office said.

Shortly after hearing the shots, they found one of the dogs leaving a nearby property with a gunshot wound to its hip, deputies said.

The second dog was found later in the day with a gunshot wound to its head.

Both dogs survived the shootings and are expected to recover, the Sheriff's Office said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 321-633-2024, or Crimeline, at 800-423TIPS.
