17-year-old shot twice in Cocoa, police say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old boy is expected to recover after being shot at least twice Monday evening, police said.

The shooting happened in the 1200 block of Vanderbilt Lane in Cocoa around 7:30 p.m., police said.

The boy is currently in the hospital. Police said the shooting was isolated and is not a random act.

Detectives are investigating and following leads.
