NASA crews to assess damage to Artemis moon rocket from Hurricane Nicole

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — NASA crews need to inspect the Artemis 1 rocket for any serious storm damage.

The agency did not roll back the Orion spacecraft and SLS rocket ahead of Hurricane Nicole.

The new rocket can withstand 85 mph winds.

NASA said peak wind gusts in the area reached 82 mph.

So far, crews have only found minor damage.

NASA is hoping to launch the Artemis mission early Wednesday morning.
