Liftoff: SpaceX launches Falcon 9 rocket carrying 2 internet satellites

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket Friday afternoon from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch was originally scheduled for 4:21 p.m. Friday but was postponed to 5:48 p.m. Friday.

That rocket is carrying two internet satellites into orbit for the O3b mPOWER mission.

The company had initially planned a second rocket launch just minutes later from a different launchpad at Cape Canaveral.

But late Thursday, SpaceX announced that it was moving the second launch to Saturday so crews could focus on the first launch.

The Starlink launch has been moved to Saturday afternoon, but SpaceX has not confirmed the launch time.
