MELBOURNE, Fla. — A man was killed after a train and a car collided Friday morning, Melbourne police said.
Melbourne police spokesman Sheridan Shelley said the car drove through a railroad crossing arm and ran into the side of the northbound train about 3:40 a.m. Friday.
Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/14YLbPu) reports 29-year-old Aaron T. Imes of Melbourne was taken to a hospital where he died.
Shelley said all railroad crossing safety features appeared to be working at the time of the crash.
The traffic homicide unit is investigating the incident.
