Central Florida professor nominated for prestigious United Nations women’s award

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Rollins College professor, Dr. Mary Conway Dato-on, has earned a nomination for the U.N. Women Award.

Conway Dato-on is a professor of international business and social entrepreneurship at the George D. and Harriet W. Cornell, Crummer Graduate School of Business.

The award recognizes women around the world who have made significant commitments to empowering others while demonstrating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

She sits alongside three other nominees, under the category of education.

She has broken barriers through her work, becoming the first female faculty president of Rollins College’s business school and serving as the faculty director of the institution’s Global Links Initiative.

As written by Rollins College: “Conway Dato-on has connected Rollins faculty and students with women entrepreneurs,  helping them engage in partnerships that support female-led ventures dedicated to solving the world’s most pressing problems.”

Nominees are judged based on a jury and a public vote.

Voting is open until Tuesday and winners will be announced on Wednesday at the 2022 MAKERS Conference in Dana Point, California.
