Central Florida students receive free school lunches

All students in Central Florida schools will receive free lunches at school for the next month.
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putman made the announcement Monday following Hurricane Irma and its impact on Florida.
The free lunches, and in some cases free breakfasts, will impact students in 48 counties subject to a FEMA Major Disaster Declaration.
Hurricane Irma hit Central Florida Sept. 10 into Sept. 11, and most of Central Florida has been declared a major disaster area. Residents can apply for FEMA assistance here.
The free lunches will last until Oct. 20.
