Charges against Villages fire chief dropped

THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Child abuse charges against The Villages’ fire chief have been dropped.

Michael Tucker was arrested in January on charges he beat up his teenaged son.

Deputies said Tucker and the victim got into an argument that escalated into a physical fight.

Reports said the victim was bruised and scratched.

The State Attorney’s Office said the teenager has a history of behavior problems and the fight had to do with the teenager being suspended from school and his grades.

The victim asked the state not to pursue the case and said he wants his father to come home.

All the members of the family are now in counseling.
