• Co-workers share $1M winning with woman who did not have money for Powerball pot

PLANTATION, Fla. - A south Florida employee said she’s fortunate to have some of the best co-workers in the world.

Jennifer Maldonado’s fellow employees won $1 million and they decided to share some of their winnings with her, even though she did not contribute to the pot.

Maldonado had just started her job at Keller Williams Realty in Plantation, and on March 8, she didn't have the $20 needed to get in the office Powerball pool.

Her boss offered to spot her, but Maldonado still said no.

When her co-workers won, they decided to give her a cut of their million-dollar prize.

"I think that it is the most generous thing they could have done for me, considering that they barely know me," said Maldonado.

The 12 workers will take home $83,000 each after taxes, and they will each give Maldonado a portion of their winnings.

However, they will not say how much.
