Cops: Man crashed into lawn ornaments after fleeing traffic stop

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — A car left behind a trail of damage Thursday morning when it veered off the road and crashed through the front of a lawn ornament business, Casselberry authorities said.

Police said they tried to pull the car over for a traffic violation, but the driver took off before crashing on SR-436 and Anchor Road.

Just before 2 a.m. Thursday, a driver crashed his car in the front lot, hitting some concrete lawn ornaments.

The driver, whose name was not released, was taken into custody at the scene and was being interviewed in the back of a police cruiser, before being taken away to jail.
